zesty ginger tea
Preparation Time: 5mins.
200ml boiling water
½ teaspoon turmeric powder (or 2cm piece of fresh turmeric, peeled & chopped - watch out, it can create yellow stains)
1 lemon slice
1 piece (about 2cm) of fresh ginger peeled & chopped
Juice of ½ an orange
1 teaspoon of natural sweetener (e.g. maple, date or agave syrup, coconut sugar)
Place lemon, ginger and turmeric powder in a mug and pour in hot water. Add a splash of orange juice and stir to mix everything.
Let sit for 5mins. before enjoying. Add sweetener if desired.
This drink is comforting and warming, especially when you're feeling a cold or flu coming on!
