  • 50g cashew nuts

  • 50ml tap water

  • 1 tablespoon tamari

  • 1 tablespoon rice or apple cider vinegar

  • tablespoon nutritional yeast



  • Basil: 6 fresh basil leaves

  • Garlic: 1 oven-roasted garlic clove or a teaspoon of garlic powder

  • Lemon: juice of 1/2 a lemon

  • Tomato: 1 tablespoon tomato paste


  1. Add the cashew nuts, water, tamari, nutritional yeast and vinegar to a blender, along with extra ingredients for flavour of your choice.

  2. Blend until smooth about 1 min.

  3. Pour over the dish of your choosing (e.g. Buddha bowl, salad, pasta, risotto).
